A New Chapter XIII-B for Co-operative Housing Societies has been added to The Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 w.e.f. 9^th March, 2019 and as per section 154B-2 (2) now a housing society can be formed with five person belonging to different family or at least 51% of total number of flat purchasers who are qualified to become Member under the Act, whichever is high. Earlier 10 members were required to form such society.
